There are many avenues in which to claim freebies. One of the most popular forms in through online sites that advertise who is giving away free stuff. These sites will generally require the consumer to sign up with their email address, and complete various surveys, or sign up to various other promotional offers, before becoming eligible for the freebie. Freebies are great incentive and promotional devices that introduce consumers to new products and brands on the market. They are also great for students, who are often painted with the stereotypical ‘freebie’ brush, in getting their hands on anything that’s free.

The freebies that are often advertised will vary from site to site. Some sites may offer cosmetic items; others may offer clothes from various brands, or items from new brands to introduce them onto the market to see how successful they become and how well they are received.

Freebies are also given away at exhibitions and conventions where businesses will do the same, but interact with the consumers face-to-face. They will give out promotional merchandise that will be branded with their company logo and name. These are generally items that the consumer can use, so that the brand becomes memorable. This will range from t-shirts, to branded mugs, key rings, USB sticks, and various forms of stationary. For the company, the freebies will be purchased at a reasonable price, usually from their advertisement and marketing budget. This is in the hope that as with other forms of marketing, it will attract more customers to the product or brand.
